Pastor Randy ‘s Corner
As pastor of Westerly Hills Baptist Church, I want to thank you for visiting our website today. We read in John 10:17,18 where Jesus says: “Therefore doth my Father love me because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it again. This commandment have
I received of my Father.”
I received of my Father.”
Jesus gave His life freely that we may be reconciled to the Father. It was all a matter of love. The love that the Father had for the Son and the love the Son had for the Father and the love God has for us. Jesus sought to complete the will of the Father and in doing so Jesus received joy as we see in Hebrew 12:2. We read: “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
This year Easter is on April 20th and as we move closer to that date, we must contemplate its importance. We must always remember how important the resurrection of Jesus Christ is to believers. I believe that it is the most important date on the Christian calendar.
We read in 1 Corinthians 15:17 where Paul writes: “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, ye are still in your sins.” But then Paul proclaims the good news as we read in verse 20: “But now Christ IS risen from the dead.” Praise God that Jesus Christ is risen, and every believer can live with the hope of a glorious resurrection day. You see, the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the foundation of Christian hope and salvation.
On Sunday April 20th we will be celebrating Jesus’ resurrection day and if you do not have a church home, we invite you to come and worship with us. We will begin with a Sunrise service at 7:00 am followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. Then at 10:00 am our Choir will be presenting our Easter Cantata. Our church is located at 232 S. Sutton Road in Fort Mill, SC.
We hope to see you there.
